Treasurer Message – February 2024

A Happy New Year to all and especially to our hard-working Treasurers.
Our main financial focus at the start of the year is for all subs for 2024/2025 to be with Nancy by 31 March. There is then a deadline for these monies to be forwarded to National. The pressure for that to be achieved comes from National. Late payment last year meant that National had to sell investments in order to meet some financial commitments as they had not received their due allocation of WI subscriptions.
Each Treasurer will have received from their Secretary an advice sheet especially relevant to those WIs whose financial year ends early in the calendar year. Hopefully, this will make your task easier.
When you submit your Financial Statement at end of your financial year, whenever that might be, could you please enclose a copy of the previous year’s statement.
Coming Soon – Treasurer’s Workshops
Three workshops for Treasurers are planned for the Spring and I would urge you to attend the one most relevant to you.
There are workshops on the Financial Statement on Saturday 16 March, Treasurers for Beginners Saturday 20 April and a refreshers session on Saturday 27 April.
The application is with this months mailing. Spaces are limited so please get your application form to Cresswell House before the closing date of Monday 4 March.
