What a day! we were joined by many members and guests from around our own Federation along with some from Neighbouring Federations.
After the more formal business round up, our morning speaker Ian Humphries, ex Lord Mayor of Newcastle bought along some of the amazing regalia along with his tales of his time in office and subsequent involvement with the City of Newcastle. I think Marj had her eye on the fabulous ‘chain of office’ remarking that it was even bigger than hers!
In the afternoon, after being entertained by Hop, Skiffle & Jump band, who had us all singing along and hand jiving in our seats, we celebrated many milestone birthdays with some of our WIs, ranging from 5 years to 105 years – Congratulations to all.
Thank you to all who attended, spread the word and we look forward to seeing you again next year… (obviously many more of you before then at some of our events)…
