Membership Support – May 2024

Hello, isn’t it great to have lighter nights and longer days…puddles and potholes are much easier to see?!
Thankfully we have lots to look forward to in our WIs with meetings and outings to plan for the Summer. The AGM at the Royal Albert Hall is fast approaching, and I must repeat Marj’s previous thanks to Jenny and Nancy for sorting delegates and solving the many problems involved: no mean task when the goalposts are being constantly moved…and they’re both still relatively sane!!
On the subject of delegates, please remember to produce a report of the meeting for the WIs that you’re representing, and you can either visit each one or send the reports to them – whichever works best for you. As there’ll be formal reports on the meeting in the WI Life, it’s a good idea to report on your own ‘take’ of the experience – and having experienced an AGM at the Royal Albert Hall in our centenary year when the late Queen Elizabeth was there I can confirm that it’s very special! The singing of ‘Jerusalem’ makes the hair on the back of the neck stand up and is very emotional… I’ll be on the coach, working with Marj to ensure that everyone gets to London safely – whilst having a lot of fun and a great time on the way there and back.
Finally, please sign up for our President and Secretary Workshops and the ‘Newbies‘ Get-together – which is a relaxed and light-hearted look at the WI.
