Membership Support – February 2024

Hello, hope you’re all looking forward to the new WI year ahead, and raring to go!!
I thought this month would be a good time to remind everyone of the Appeal that I made at the Annual Council Meeting on behalf of the Membership Support Committee. As you all know, the Advisers attend your Annual Meetings and are here to help throughout the year, but our Committee is non-fundraising, so we thought that making an appeal for financial support would help our Federation a lot – hence the “January to June” Appeal. The idea is that every WI can help by sending in a donation – large or small, all appreciated – or perhaps have a fundraiser or coffee morning, and we’ve been very, very grateful to those Wis who have already done so. The much-needed new boiler has been installed, and the outdated and inefficient lighting is being sorted…but there’s still a vast amount to do to look after and maintain our ‘WI Home’. We need to build an on-going maintenance fund…
As a Board member as well as an Adviser, I can view this from both sides and know how hard the Trustees work to keep everything on track for our members, and I know too that we can rely on you to go the extra mile for the Federation….it’s true, so I’ll borrow the phrase…”every little helps”.
