Ship Ahoy! At Newbiggin By the Sea
Newbiggin by the Sea WI had an extremely informative and interesting talk accompanied by a visual presentation by The Friends of the LV50 Lightship, a voluntary group who promote the heritage of this unique wooden lightship, moored in South Harbour, Blyth.
Built, 1979 by Fletcher Son and Fearnall in London, she was bought in 1952 by the Royal Northumberland Yacht Club, who have lovingly restored her. It is open to the public between April and September on the last Thursday of the month. A highly recommended talk.
