Resolution Submission 2022/2023 process
Submissions are now open to put forward proposed resolutions for the 2022/23 process. This is your chance to highlight an issue you are concerned about and put forward your ideas about what you would like to see the WI
campaign on from next year. Any WI or Federation can submit a resolution, as long as it has been voted on and approved.
You can now submit your resolutions via the online form, email, or post. Submissions must reach Cresswell House for sign off by the Federation Resolution Coordinator Marj Read by Friday 2 September 2022.
The Resolution Shortlist Selection Meeting will be held on 4 October 2022 and your Federation Delegate is Rosie Harden Vane.
Any questions please contact the Federation Office or the Public Affairs Department at National pa@nfwi.org.uk
ACWW – Marj Read
Hello ladies. I know that since Covid we have not done any specific fund raising for ACWW but I hope that this will be rectified as we plan our Federation programme for 2023. As you may remember some time ago ACWW decided that instead of a list of specific projects to support, such as the Dalit women that we did several years ago, we had to opt for our money going to one of six generic headings. Our choice was water projects around the world because we all know how important to life clean water is and of course it is something that Northumberland Federation have generously supported in previous years.
Even throughout Covid you have all continued to support the work of ACWW by sending in your money through the coins for friendship envelopes we send out each year and the Federation and ACWW are extremely thankful that you continue to think of those less fortunate than yourselves around the world. I am sure that you will support our events whatever they may be in the future.
With very grateful thanks.

North Sunderland & Seahouses Jubilee Celebration – Alison Kingston
The North Sunderland and Seahouses WI certainly celebrated the Queens Platinum Jubilee in style. Three trees were planted in the centre of Seahouses, a coffee morning was held on 2 June which was well supported by residents and visitors to the area, and on the 7 June we held a Platinum Jubilee “Street” Party. A toast to Her Majesty the Queen was given by Sheila Young, our longest serving member of 50 continuous years.
Kirkley WI out and about – Dorothy Toward

Louise Percival: Her talk revolves around Acupuncture, using traditional Chinese medicine in a modern world. There is a quiz and also a balloon popping competition using acupuncture needles! Fun but informative. There is no fee but she is only prepared to travel within a 20 mile radius of Alnwick.
