The ladies of the Craft Committee, who are all volunteers not only organise a wide range of workshops to be enjoyed by all of the members of Northumberland Federation. Behind the scenes they work tirelessly to ensure that everyone who attends has an amazing experience. They ensure the rooms are set up ready for the workshops to begin, they make sure there is always a coffee, a biscuit and a welcome to everyone who walks through the door and sometimes lunch and of course after each event rooms are cleared and tidied. The sessions include some outside tutors, but many are delivered by members of the Committee on a voluntary basis.
In the last few weeks, we have had over 20 ladies taking part in the Strudel session.
Alison Scrimshaw, a Craft Committee member, created the most amazing Spring Flower Workshop that was so popular we had to have a morning and afternoon session. Every one of the ladies were delighted with their individual displays.
The Get to Know your Sewing Machine class again delivered by members of the talented Craft Committee saw 12 ladies not only gaining confidence about their sewing machines, but they all created a fabulous and useful tote bag.![]()
The last session in April was due to the popularity of the Willow Weaving Classes that we had advertised. To ensure we did not disappoint anyone, we were able to add a third session with the talented Ruth Thompson. 34 ladies now own Bird Feeders to adorn their gardens.
