We celebrated International Bee day this year at Cresswell House with the ladies creating four different ‘Bee’ themed projects; a floral display, wax wraps, an embroidered felt flower and a needle felted bee. The day was enhanced with a visit from Margaret Lovering a local bee keeper who shared her knowledge with us.
The Craft Committee are continually adding events and workshops for you to enjoy and this month we have the Sushi Making workshop. In August a Pasta Making Workshop with Karen Auty who was featured on the front page of the WI Life magazine.
Starting on the 30 Sept we have a Crewel Embroidery Course, led by Marion Fairless and over two weeks. Marion will guide you through the fill and line stitches that are traditionally used, and using those to create a traditional Crewel Embroidery design, and on the 2nd November Lisa Kenny is bringing her Needle Felted Animals to Cresswell House. The Yellow Sheets will be in your Secretaries mailings.
The Fund raising for the Kitchen technical equipment is continuing and we thank you all for your support. We know this will enhance your experience when you are taking part in one of our demonstration days.
