Craft – March 2024 Update

The Craft Committee have some amazing events on offer for you this edition, however I will start with a quick recap.
Pre-Easter Treat Day – 23 March. Kevin in the kitchen creating all manner of sweet treats, bring a packed lunch, with a fundraiser raffle towards the new kitchen tech
Spring Themed Craft Day – 13 April. Three activities plus a light lunch. We were going to do marzipan fruits but have had a change due to tutor availability and its now going to be paper cutting. This whole event will be a tech fundraiser for the kitchen.
Buzzy Bee Day – 18 May. A bee themed day again with 3 activities and a light lunch included. There will be a kitchen tech raffle fundraiser. Come along and be buzzing with excitement at your creations. The yellow sheet out this month, closing date is 23 April at noon.
Then first mention of our Sushi Making Day, on Saturday 8 June, 10 for 10:30 start – finished by noon. Julie Thompson from an adjoining Federation, will show you how to make vegan and vegetarian sushi as well as with fish and meat, and sweet sushi with fruit. You can either eat or take home your sushi to show off. Priced at £20, the closing date is 21 May. Due to the need to have table space numbers will be limited. However, Julie will do a repeat class in the afternoon if there is demand and I am hoping there will be.! This event will be a tech fundraiser also. Look out for the yellow sheet.
On the topic of which, can I give on behalf of the whole Craft Committee our grateful thanks to Heart of Tyne Group, Dilson WI and a personal donation from Susan Robinson, for their contributions to our tech fund, it is very much appreciated.
And to be said in a whisper…… Christmas Craft is back and will be on 24 November … You have been warned!
