I do hope this newsletter finds you well, as I write I am day 4 into Covid and crikey does my body hurt, so I want to begin with a very personal thank you, to every person involved, in any way no matter how small, in the rolling out of the Covid jab programme. I am well aware that both my husband & I would end up in hospital had it not been for the protection given by that injection. Thank you.

On to better news, we have heeded your requests and I am pleased to say we have a ‘get to know your sewing machine’ session booked for 8 September with Kim Suleman, widely known in the quilting world. So, ladies, check the yellow sheet for the instructions of what you need to bring with you. The cost of £18 will include a PAT testing of your machine – closing date is noon on 30 August.
On 5 September, we have the much-anticipated return to the Cresswell House kitchen of Sue Malloy, who is going to focus on Harvest themed local products, to create a delicious array of foods before your very eyes and yes there will be tastings. Priced at £15 – closing date is 16 August.
The willow sphere making days are now agreed for Monday 10 October and again on Friday 14 October. We are thrilled to have Victoria Conner back to show us how to make willow spheres, priced at £65 and closing date will be 13 September. Bring a packed lunch, more details are on the yellow sheets.
Thank you for those WI crafters who have already sent in their jubilee bunting. I had been asked to return a set once our celebrations are over and as some of these are beautiful works, I agreed. So if you would like me to return your bunting for your own WI archives then let me know via the Office and I shall return them.
The Craft Committee have a planned meeting in June when we shall be looking at plans for Christmas! This is how dedicated the team are. So, keep on the look out for those yellow sheets. Stay safe.
