The Craft Committee have had their Summer meeting and plans are well under way for Autumn – dare I say the ‘C’ word……Christmas!!! I know you think it’s too early but needs must, if everyone is to have a fair chance of getting a place at events.
We have on offer on 11 September the food demo Tasting the Middle East then on 9 October we have the Embroidered Landscape. Two very different things which demonstrate the breadth of interest we have as a Committee.
I am pleased to announce we have secured the Canny Chocolate Company to come to Cresswell House on 25 November to show us the dark art of beautiful chocolate creations. The yellow booking form is in this mailing. Closing date in 31 October at noon. I have booked them for two sessions; one in the morning 10 for 10:30 and the other in the afternoon for 1 for 1:30pm start. So this is your chance to get in some early festive cheer be that for yourself or for others! £10 each person. More details on the yellow sheet
Advance notice!
There will also be a Cresswell House based Wreath Making session on offer, to be held on Saturday 18 November, again two sessions (morning and afternoon) both led by Alison Scrimshaw and Susan Tilt. Every thing will be provided to help you achieve a great festive wreath. Look out for the yellow sheet next month. I am waiting until next month to put out the yellow sheet, as I want to price it as realistically as possible, and with prices going up and up each minute, or at least that’s how it feels, I will wait until next month to put out the sheet. I will remind you next issue of Northumberland News, as the closing date will be 24 October at noon.
That is the newest offerings for the Craft Committee, also we have had the request to do some more detailed ‘crewel embroidery’, and that will be on offer for 2024, which is proof we do listen and respond to request from members, so please don’t hesitate to make request/suggestions.
