Public Affairs -June 2023 Update

On 7 September 2023, join us for an interesting walk in Jesmond Old Cemetery, the resting place for many famous local people. There are many interesting (and large) headstones. There are few established footpaths and the ground can be muddy. Unfortunately, it will not be suitable for wheelchairs or members with mobility problems. The walk will be approximately 2 hours with tea, cake and biscuits in the lovely South Lodge. The price is £8. Closing date for entries is 25 August 2023.
A visit to the Lit and Phil Society in Newcastle on 3 October 2023. Have an hour tour of the refurbished Lit and Phil Society followed by a half hour walk in the local area. There will be two opportunities to visit at 11.00am or 1.00pm. Please state which time you prefer when completing the application form. The price for this tour is £7. Closing date Friday 15 September 2023.
Murderous Walks in Newcastle on 12 October 2023.
Some people were disappointed the last time we had this walk, so here is another chance to “walk on the dark side”. Newcastle had some notorious murderers! The tour starts at the Castle Keep, next to the Cathedral towards the bridge, at 11 am and lasts approximately one and a half hours, possibly two hours. The price is £7.
