Leisure – October 2022 Update

The Leisure Committee wishes to record our sadness upon the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
In order to go to print I am writing this before September events are completed but I can update you.
I would really like to thank those members who overwhelmed us with your support for the two Croquet sessions at Belsay. We carried out a ballot which disappointed 13 ladies and then unfortunately the weather forced us to cancel the 9 September session. Fingers are crossed for 23 September. Our plan is to book sessions in May / June next year when priority can be given to those disappointed.
Similarly, thank you to those WIs who rallied to enter the Car Treasure Hunt at Bellingham on 25 September, thus saving it from possible cancellation.
The Darts and Domino competition will also reach its conclusion. Good luck to Darts finalists Hepple and Bellingham and Domino teams from Stocksfield and Chollerton.
New Event!: Our traditional Christmas Beetle Drive, Frosty the Snowman will be your “beetle” this year and will take place at Cresswell House at 1.30pm on Thursday 8 December. Cost per member will be £7.50. This will include the usual Christmas Cake and Cheese. Application Form is with your Secretary.
