Summer has continued to be kind to the committee for our outdoor events. Our second visit to Belsay was another glorious afternoon. Rivalry on the lawn and coffee in the Hall where the ladies felt “to the manor born”. As I write, I have just returned from Newbrough where another day of fun and friendship was had. Walk in the sunshine, led by Judith, and a fabulous lunch prepared by Newbrough WI. A joint enterprise between Newbrough and the Leisure Committee. Other ideas would be welcome.

Between The Covers. Book lovers are invited to join us at 13.30 on Monday, 13 November at Cresswell House for tea/coffee and sweet treats to talk all things books. We will start with a short quiz to get our brains into gear and then ask you to tell us about a favourite book, maybe read a passage from it to help explain why the book is important to you.
Meanwhile keep thinking. What is the first book you remember reading? How do you keep track of books you have read? Have you ever not finished a book?
Cost is £6.00 pp and the application form will be with the September Newsletter.
