Leisure – April 2023 Update

Gardener’s Question Time. We were very disappointed to have to cancel this event due to low numbers and so the event was neither viable financially nor able to provide the numbers needed for the format.
Domino Competition. We are delighted that the number of teams entering is slightly up on last year so you should have received your copy of the draw by the time you read this. We are aware of travel issues so when you are arranging matches be as flexible as you can with regard to timing of match and your venue. Traditionally the home team hosts the match but maybe meet halfway in a pub! Venue of the final will be decided when we know the finalists.
Croquet at Belsay. Two sessions have been booked on 9 and 16 June for a 13.45 start and Belsay Hall will host us for tea and cake afterwards. Remember to wear appropriate footwear. The weather is beyond our control so prayer mats out. Cost is £12 per person. Closing Date: Tuesday 23 May.
Summer Quiz. Monday 12 June from 19:00-21:00 at Cresswell House. This is a popular event so get your entries in and your brains in gear. There will be a light supper so please notify of any dietary requirements. Cost is £8.50 per person. Closing Date: Tuesday 30 May.
Newbrough Circular Walk. Friday 13 July. Meet at Newbrough Town Hall at 10 for coffee before setting off at 10.30. We have an experienced leader who will be our guide and talk to us about the area covered by the walk. A couple of hours will bring us back to Newbrough for a two course knife and fork buffet which Newbrough WI will have prepared for you. Please notify of any dietary rerquirements. I know they are renowned for their catering so your walking efforts will be well rewarded. Cost £12. per person. Closing Date: Tuesday 27 June.
As a general point can I ask that all members check details of an event before applying. Also, to make sure that whoever your contact is for the event is able to be contacted until the date itself, especially where the weather could lead to last minute cancellation.
