Hello Ladies, another month gone already! I was dreading the Winter months coming around…and then suddenly we’re ‘on the other side’ of Winter. It’s true that time flies…
It’s also true to say that some of us have had a very bumpy ride recently – and difficult decisions to make – but I do hope that we can all look forward with positivity to the new WI year.
We’ve sadly had to Suspend some WIs recently, but last Wednesday three of the Membership Support Team – myself, Dee and Shirley, plus helpers – had the pleasure of welcoming 20 ladies to an ‘Interest’ meeting at Haydon Bridge, with a view to starting a new WI there. I’m delighted to be able to tell you that a Formation meeting for ‘Haydon Hearts WI’ will take place on 15th April, and we have a President, Secretary and Treasurer and Committee ready to go! We also have two more keen intending members who couldn’t be there: one lady who was Secretary at the old Glanton WI at Wooler now lives in Haydon Bridge but was on holiday, and the other is emigrating from Australia in May and can’t wait to join…great fun ahead!
It was lovely to be able to share the benefits that WI can bring, and new friendships were already beginning to form.
