My name is Callum, I work on the Nextdoor Nature project for Northumberland Wildlife Trust based at Hauxley. The project aims to inspire community action for nature in the county.
I just wanted to get in touch to see if your group might be interested in hosting us for a free friendly, informal talk or presentation. We love coming out into the community to share ideas and have a chat about local wildlife.
We would cover the following themes:
- Citizen science – the importance of local people getting involved in recording and monitoring wildlife
- Wildlife gardening – simple ways to make gardens and green spaces better for nature
- Wildlife & litter – the impact it has and what we can all do to help
We’d be very happy to come along to one of your meetings and hopefully leave everyone with a few practical tips and fresh ideas.
Alternatively, we can run a more hands-on session, working together to create things like bird boxes, bug hotels, or even a hedgehog house. We’re also open to other ideas if there’s something particular your group would like to try.
