The Craft Committee have been busy organising a variety of different Craft Events throughout the year.
On March 25th, we will be filling Cresswell House demo kitchen with the delicious smells of Strudel Making, when new to the wider Federation ‘Strudel Lady’ Lucia Fisher, will create a thing of beauty, whilst you watch, take notes and marvel at its deliciousness….she will tell you about her life before she came to Northumberland and then once the strudel is ready you’ll get a slice to taste savour and enjoy, what a great way to spend a morning ! Cost £15, be quick the closing date is the 10th March.
On April 5th a Saturday morning spent in floral things, with Alison Scrimshaw who will demo then take you step by step through the Spring Flower Workshop, so that you’ll be taking home a floral creation of beauty, everything is provided. Cost £15, Closing date 25th March.
The Willow Weaving event that took place in February was oversubscribed, however thanks to the tutor Ruth Thompson we are able to offer another date, Saturday 26th April. Ruth Thompson who appeared in the Robson Green ‘Weekend Escapes’ TV series will be teaching you the skills to interlock the willow branches to create a couple of Bird Feeders.We have 2 sessions planned, 10.30-12.30 and 1.30-3.30. The cost is £35 and the closing date is the 8th April. If you would like to take part. The Yellow Sheet is out.
We are aware that it is not always convenient to come to Cresswell House so we are going on the road with a brand new event ‘Crafts in the North’ which will take place on the 5th July at Breamish Hall, Powburn NE66 4HT. We will offer two different crafts, with all materials & equipment provided. These will run in the morning and afternoon with a fabulous cold lunch included.
In one session you will be tackle 3 different Felt Projects, and in the other session we are offering Decopatch and Paper Cutting
The choice of activities will allow for all skill levels and the speed of the individual with every person having the opportunity to complete some or all of the projects. 10:00 – 15:00, closing date 9th June 2025.
Cost is £35 per person for the day.
All of our planned sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as ladies with more experience and each one includes all of the materials you will need along with the expert tuition making these events excellent value.
