Throughout this year our members have busily been knitting and crocheting scarves to give to the warm spaces in our community. We know how cold the winter weather can be here in the Northeast so anyone can collect one for free from 3 locations.
Whilst we are a small branch, with around 32 members, we are mighty, so we aimed high with a goal of making 100. Thanks to the hard work, commitment and considerable skills of our group we smashed our target with 152 scarves in a variety of colours and designs.
An amazing result when you consider that if you laid them end to end, they would reach 1.5 times the length of the football pitch at St Jame’s Park, or to put it another way, all the way along platform 1 at Newcastle station.
