Hexhamshire WI 100 Years Celebrated in Style
Over 70 members and guests including Federation Chairman Marj, enjoyed a three-course meal followed by music and dancing in the Parish Hall at Whitley Chapel. The hall was beautifully decorated with pretty
bunting and other items which the members had made at a previous meeting. The cake was cut by one of our most senior members who, having given a potted history of her time as a member of the WI then proceeded to give us a Joyce Grenfell monologue. Not bad for someone who is 94 next month! A truly wonderful night was had by all!
Later in the year we are planning to have an afternoon tea for past members, and we have also provided two planters for people to enjoy, next to the seat which is on the green below the church.
