As the nights get lighter, thoughts turn to summer activities for our WIs – quite rightly for that is why we joined for friendship, mutual support, to be out and about with likeminded women. Collecting monies for activities is an all-year-round task culminating in collection of subs and balancing the books, so can I ask that those ladies who take on the role of Treasurer in your WI, are given a bit of a boost with some moral support, perhaps the occasional thanks and some consideration for the task they do on your behalf, as for some Treasurers, it’s a thankless task.
It’s a tough job having to remind again and again that “subs are due could you please pay them?” but please remember without that Treasurer your WI would be in a fine pickle…!
Having said that could I ask that you double check your cheques when making payments, a we have had a couple which have been missing the second signature…!
The Treasurers’ Workshop days are to be supported by every WI, so that their Treasurer can have some time/space in which to learn/brush up on skills they need to do the job so diligently. Please support them and your Treasurer.
