Ladies, get your diaries out, the Craft Committee have had their spring meeting and have several new offerings to tempt you to Cresswell House. I know we haven’t had summer yet but if I don’t book these events soon enough, we miss out, plus not every WI meets in July / August and I don’t want anyone to miss out of the plans we have on offer……..
Firstly, Monday 11 September, 10 for 10:30 start join Yasmin, new to the wider Federation, in the Cresswell House Demo kitchen for an exotic ‘Tasting the Middle East’ food demonstration and as you have come to expect – the delicious tastings afterwards, suitable for vegetarians. There will be the recipes to take home, as well as hints tips and tales from her life before she came to the North East! The closing date will be noon on 22 Tuesday August. All for the amazing price of £15 per person. Look out for the yellow sheet this mailing.
Secondly, we are offering you some quieter time, to join with our very talented needleworker Marian Fairless, on 9 October for a whole day of needlework, where you will go home with a completed embroidered landscape. See the picture to get full effect! You’ll need a packed lunch to sustain you but as always tea coffee and biscuits will be in ready supply. She is a very good patient tutor; she must be as I managed to complete the landscape under her tuition and its gorgeous! Yellow sheet in this mailing too. Closing date 19 September, everything provided bar your specs and lunch and for £15 per person, now that is a good day out!
Now, lots of notice for a pre-Christmas Chocolate experience planned for 25 November, a morning and an afternoon duplicated session, as we think its going to be very popular! Cresswell House will be filled with that delicious aroma of warm melted chocolate as we are shown the how’s, the why and then tips to create delicious mouth-watering chocolates. And there will be products available to buy on the day, so pencil in your diary and look out for the yellow sheet soon! Hopefully this will be approx. £10 a head so it’s an excellent price too.
The ever-creative Craft Committee have other things in planning stages for 2023, so keep an eye on those yellow sheets as they arrive at your WI. And if you thought you had lots of warning for Christmas chocolates then don’t get us started on our plans for 2024!!
