Speaker Recommendation:
The Ladies of Felton and Thirston WI had a talk from a local business lady, Sophie Kirkup – Todburn Soaps. We were treated to the story of how Sophie embarked on the journey of breeding her goats, all with flower names and distinct personalities, and
after attending various courses and reading books was emboldened to develop her soaps, and then shampoo bars, body butters, lip balms and more, using their milk. The soap-making process was outlined, and the importance of following a precise recipe explained. There were lots of questions about the business as well as the goats and the products.
