Oh, how excited can a Craft Committee be? Well, it turns out very… at long last the show schedule is out for you to read, contemplate and enter. However, for the eagle-eyed amongst you there a several errors, to which I own up entirely.
The front page is missing the apostrophe for the Queen’s Jubilee, apologies to those who view my punctuation with distain.
In the food section, class 1 ‘lemon curd’, for which the winner gets to keep the Kathleen Jones Memorial Trophy, already engraved and ready to be awarded, the lemon curd must be covered with a ‘breathing’ top (that is, a wax circle and cellophane top). Curd does not achieve high enough temperatures for wax to seal, but disc forms double dust cover & twist tops are not acceptable in this instance.
Huge apologies for my error I didn’t check the correct section in ‘On with the Show’. Then class 10, Novice, the shortbread round should read ‘Marked into 6 sections with a knife before baking.’
On a very much more positive note, the Craft Committee have had their first meeting of 2022. It was great to welcome three new ladies to our team. A lot of planning was made of which the first ones to be offered are:

Then upon completion you can come down to Cresswell Café and have a summer themed lunch prepared by Sue Malloy and her team, with a little refreshing drink to rehydrate you after such hard work! What a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Places are limited to 20. This event is priced at £25. Closing date 28 June noon. More information is on the yellow application form.
A date for your diary: The Christmas Craft Day will be on 10 December. This is a multi-craft event filling Creswell House with festive fun.
Finally, can I remind you that ALL events must be paid for in advance. Refunds will not be given after the closing date unless you are unsuccessful in the ballot.
