As a visual artist based in Newcastle, Jayamini’s work is a bridge between her Sri Lankan heritage, years studying in Beijing and life here in the North East.
Her talk “The Art of Resilience: From Sri Lanka to the North East” shares his personal journey of navigating motherhood and immigration to build a creative career. It is an honest look at using art as a tool for survival and peace.
Jayamini also offers workshops in Chinese Calligraphy, Creative Journalling or Rangoli – all of which have proven to be wonderful therapeutic activities for groups.
