Hello again – doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun?
Along with the other Advisers I’ve been very busy with Annual Meetings, and have thoroughly enjoyed visiting those new to me and meeting such a lot of our Northumberland Federation members. The welcomes have been very warm, so thank you, and it’s great to hear all about your very varied activities and events.
On the subject of Advisers, we now have a Trainee who is about to become the very first candidate to try out the new Adviser Training Programme after having been an Observer in Membership Support Committee for some time. The new course has just been launched and is very short and totally online thus avoiding many of the previous obstacles to commitment to training. If you’re interested in learning more about the ‘job’ please contact me, my details are in the Year Book, or Nancy has them. Like marriage, it’s “not to be taken lightly” as WI Adviser work is complex and involved at times, and the hours can be very long and tiring…but it’s unbelievably rewarding.
Rosie and Karen have just formed our latest WI ‘West Moor Rockets’ (West Moor Community Centre, 3rd Tuesday, 7.30pm) and we have an ‘Information Meeting’ for another new WI at Summerhill Bowling Club, Winchester Tce., Newcastle NE4 6EH on Tuesday 25 June at 7.30pm. Come along if you’re interested – perhaps as a dual member?
I’m looking forward to the AGM in London and have been collecting raffle prizes – fun and games ahead on the coach – so ‘bye for now, enjoy your WI meetings…and get involved!
