ANGELS OF THE NORTH ~ Notable Women of the North East

On Monday 9 March 2020 (2-4pm) at Heddon on the Wall, to mark International Women’s Day, come and hear the authors of the above. Baroness Joyce Quin (former MEP and MP) and Moira Kilkenny explain the origins and span of their book followed by biographies of some of those featured. These
include Mary Astell, Englands first feminist writer and Catherine Cookson. Other notable female politicians, scientists, explorers, artists and reformers will also be highlighted. There will be tea and cake. Price is £7, closing date for applications is Monday 17 February 2020.

Date for your diary – Saturday 27 June 2020 join us for a 2 day break to visit the V & A Dundee. Price per person £115.50 (based on 2 people sharing a twin room) Single room supplement £35 per person. The exhibition being staged is “Mary Quant” so dig out your miniskirts. Full details will follow.
