SUMMARY:Jesmond Cemetery Walk
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 7 September 2023 join us for an interesting walk in this old cemetery\, the resting place for many famous local people.  Jesmond Old Cemetery is a Victorian cemetery in Newcastle upon Tyne\, United Kingdom\, founded in 1834. It contains two Grade II listed buildings and seven Grade II listed monuments as well as the graves of dozens of notable people from the history of Tyneside.There are many interesting (and large) headstones.  There are few established footpaths\, and the ground can be muddy.  Unfortunately\, it will not be suitable for wheelchairs or members with mobility problems.  The walk will be approximately 2 hours with tea\, cake\, and biscuits in the lovely South Lodge.  The price is £8. \nlosing date for entries is 25 August 2023.

SUMMARY:Newbrough Circular Walk and Lunch
DESCRIPTION:The committee has worked with Newbrough WI to offer this ramble around their picturesque town in the Tyne valley. It is a moderate walk of 4.13 miles with a gradual incline to a view over the valley. Our guide will be a Northumberland National Park trained walker with a current Outside First Aid Certificate. The walk will bring us back to Newbrough Town Hall where a 2-course knife and fork buffet lunch will be provided by the ladies of Newbrough WI.  This I am sure will be a delicious reward for your efforts. Please be sure to bring appropriate clothing and footwear. \n13 July and the starting point is Newbrough Town Hall. NE47 5AR. DESCRIPTION:Come to Cresswell House on Saturday 1 July at 10am to be greeted with a hot drink and biscuits then on the dot of 10:30 move into the Demo kitchen for a whole day to watch and enjoy the near magical creation of a variety of Italian breads. The baker will be the very experienced talented food creator Kevin Johnson\, who started his food career many years ago and has been responsible for creating fantastic food for everyone from The Royal Navy to the schools and colleges with many points in between.  In the demo you will see all the stages of creating beautiful warm aromatic breads\, you will be able to ask questions about what you see as well as takes notes if you so wish. Provided with this demo will be a full recipe sheet to take away. What a way to spend a day. \nOn this occasion the demo in NOT SUITABLE for those members with gluten\, cheese\, milk\, egg intolerances.
