DESCRIPTION:Following the success of last year’s venture with Newbrough WI\, Netherton WI have a planned a walk and lunch in their area of Northumberland on Thursday 20 June 2024. The walk is moderate and covers 5 miles with one slight incline and is on tracks and a short distance on a quiet road. There will be the possibility of turning back at any point. Enjoy the beautiful countryside and learn something of the area. Do you know Biddlestone quarry’s claim to fame? Come at 10:00 for tea and coffee and the walk starts at Netherton Memorial Hall at 10:30. Afterwards there will be a savoury and sweet lunch\, which will reward your efforts. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Cresswell House  on Saturday 18 November at Cresswell House\, for a very focussed workshop where you will create from scratch a festive wreath. There are two sessions: Session 1 – 10:00 for 10:30 start and Session 2 – 13:00 for 13:30 start. Under the tutorage of Alison Scrimshaw and Susan Tilt\, everything is provided. Please bring with you some sturdy gloves and secateurs if you have them. Tea and coffee will be served on arrival. DESCRIPTION:The Annual Council Meeting will be held on Saturday 7 October 2023 in the Performing Arts Centre – The Miller Theatre\, Royal Grammar School\, Eskdale Terrace\, Newcastle upon Tyne NE2 4DX starting at 11am\, doors open from 10am. It will be necessary to apply for observer / visitor tickets.  Tickets are £10 this year for visitors and will be allocated after the closing date of Thursday 22 September.   We must keep a close eye on numbers so please ensure the Office knows you are attending before the Council Meeting. \nPlease note this year on site parking is not available and if coming by car will have pay for on street parking. An alternative is to park one of the Park and Ride centers and take the metro or bus. You can park at the Regent Center and the Q3 bus drops off on Osborne Road. \nPlease return your form by no later than Thursday 22 September if requiring observer tickets.
